Description
Die Ceres war die Nachfolgerin der Lilith. Zusammen mit Hans Eberle, später mit Beat Heeb, baute Wirth ab 1984 die Ceres-Linie, mit der er einige Jahre später den ersten 32-Bit-Rechner präsentierte. 1990 wurde die zweite und letzte Revision der Serie - die Ceres-3 - in grösserer Stückzahl in der Schweiz produziert und damit Computerräume ausgestattet. Parallel zur Entwicklung der Ceres-Linie fand insbesondere der Umstieg auf Oberon als Unterrichtssprache für das Programmieren sowie auch als Betriebssystem statt.
