Notes
  • Significance: The Old Land Office Building is the oldest known public building in Austin and was the second Land Office Building constructed in the City. O. Henry, the noted short story writer used the building as a setting for two of his tales. It was probably the first fireproofed building in Texas. It is a good example of German Romanesque style; unusual in Texas.
