Description

Finales del s. I d. e. Bronce. Cortijo de los Villares, cercano a Serrato. Museo de Málaga (actualmente cerrado por obras). Hacia 1946 se hallaron en el Cortijo de los Villares unos fragmentos correspondientes a una estatua de bronce. Sólo se ha conservado esta cabeza de una obra que, de haberse conservado íntegra, rivalizaría en belleza e importancia con el Efebo de Antequera.

Es una pieza inspirada en un original del s. IV a. e., atribuido al grupo de Praxíteles o de Escopas. Los mejores paralelos se encuentran en el Museo Capitolino, Venecia o Corinto.
