English: Illustrated title page "De Haagse Mercurius In sGravenha.. voor de auteur enwerden verkogt by Gillis van Limburg anno 1698". Mercury with winged helmet (hat, petsos) and staff (caduceus) in a chariot drawn through a porch by satyrs. A man is being trampled in the foreground. Beehive with text "Ut prosint aliis" (Let them profit others). "Sauciat et defendit" (It wounds and defends.) Cartouche of a rock "Conantia frangere frangit" (Vergilius, Aeneis 7, 586, ~ "I break what tries to break me".) Lady with a lyre. Scene of a stork catching an eel. Lady with an oak branch. Monogram.
Nederlands: Verluchte titelpagina "De Haagse Mercurius In sGravenha.. voor de auteur enwerden verkogt by Gillis van Limburg anno 1698". Mercurius met gevleugelde helm en zijn kenmerkende slangenstaf (caduceus), op een zegekar getrokken door satyrs. Medaillons links en rechts. Bijenkorf met tekst "Ut prosint aliis".
