| Description |
English: Real-time demonstration of the complete erectile process of the human penis. The subject is a 27-year-old healthy circumcised Caucasian male. At the beginning of the video, his penis is flaccid (non-aroused, soft, and fully flexible). During arousal it becomes engorged with blood and the erectile tissues expand and harden, causing first a partial erection (1:20) in which the penis is larger and slightly firmer but still flexible, and then a full erection (2:30) in which the penis reaches its largest size and becomes rigid and inflexible. At this point, if the subject was being sexually stimulated, orgasm and ejaculation would typically occur. After maximum erection is obtained, the subject’s penis subsequently becomes flaccid again (3:55). Also visible in this demonstration are the tightening of the subject’s scrotum and the elevating of his testicles during arousal. This conscious process can be compared with the same subject's unconscious nocturnal erection process. |
