| Description |
English: Coal loading silos at Avonmouth Docks. Coal is deposited into trains via these loading silos which straddle the railway. The coal silo is linked to the Portbury coal stockyard to the south by a conveyor system which runs under the river Avon. Trains are pulled under the silo at a speed of 1km per hour, and can be loaded, fully automatically, in 36 minutes. |
