Chainsaw safety feature.
Chainsaw starter handle, faulty.
The return spring for the starter cord is not sufficiently tight. The handle must spring back into its mount on the saw body. A loose starter cord could become entangled and cause the operator to lose control of the saw. The spring tension of the starter cord can be adjusted by the operator.
