Chainsaw safety feature.

Chainsaw rubber mount.

The saw isolates the handles held by the operator from the engine and cutter bar, to reduce vibration. Excess vibration can cause "white finger". The rubber mount is part of this isolation system. Rubber mounts are less robust than metal springs, but have the advantage that they provide some damping. Mounts must be in place and must connect securely.
