Découvert par l'intendant Antoine Mégret d'Étigny en présence de du Plessis, duc de Richelieu, en 1763 (voir Alphonse Couget, Le duc de Richelieu, gouverneur de Guyenne et de Gascogne en Comminges et Nébouzan (1763), p. 11) sur le site des thermes de Luchon. Inscription :
