Italiano: Il carretto è costituito da una coppia di grandi ruote metalliche a raggi, cui è fissato un lungo timone per mezzo del quale il mezzo veniva spinto a mano. Al timone è fissata pure una balestra metallica alla quale si agganciava il secchione del latte. La balestra ha la funzione di assorbire urti e vibrazioni evitando che si trasmettano al contenitore.

Italiano: Provenienza: CFPR, Reggio Emilia (comodato per 25 anni). L'oggetto era stato precedentemente donato al Consorzio dal caseificio Vò Grande di Pegognaga, Mantova. Semplice ma di proporzioni armoniose, era usato per portare il secchione che conteneva il latte appena munto dalla stalla al piccolo caseificio limitrofo. Nel passato, fino al secolo XIX, l’operazione spettava alla figlia primogenita che, lungo il cammino, aveva cura di evitare il nocivo sbattimento del latte. Unica opportunità che aveva di uscire sola da casa, l’andata al “casello” le dava così l’occasione di socializzare con i coetanei di sesso opposto.
