Original historic description: 

ADN-ZB Koard 20.12.76 Berlin: Sportler des Jahres geehrt. Marathon-Olympiasieger Waldemar Cierpinski (SC Chemie Halle-r.) erhält von Klaus Raddatz, Chefredakteur der Jugendzeitung "Junge Welt" (l.), die Ehrenschale dieser Zeitung überreicht. In der traditionellen Umfrage dieses Organs nach den Sportlern des Jahres hatte er mit 34.2104 Stimmen bei den Männern den ersten Platz belegt. Im Palast der Republik wurden am 20.12. die besten Sportler des Olympiajahres 1976 geehrt. Mitte, halb verdeckt: Hans-Richard Vollbrecht, Leiter der Sportredaktion der "Junge Welt".
