Description Retable (diptyque) dit retable de la Nativité de Rodern. Découvert par le chanoine Straub dans le grenier de l'église de Rodern en 1859, acheté par le maire de Sélestat, Knol, en 1862 pour le musée dont il devint le premier objet d'art ; il date probablement du 1er quart du 16e siècle, en 1521 est mentionné à Rodern un autel latéral dédié à sainte Dorothée et à saint Wolfgang ; les peintures marquées par l'art de Hans Baldung Grien sont de qualité supérieure aux sculptures pour lesquelles la raideur des formes et la simplicité du modelé sont compensées par l'éclat et la richesse des dorures.
