English: Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) or Cowberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) It was good to see such bright colours on an otherwise dull moorland. I tried eating just one and that was enough. Bearberry is good for the water-works apparently http://www.purplesage.org.uk/profiles/bearberry.htm
Although I was confident of the identification at first, now I'm not so sure. Could it be Cowberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) instead? Also good for the health and makes a good jam with loads of sugar Vaccinium_vitis-idaea |
