Description
English: Robert Lawrence Balzer (1912-2011) left, about to undergo ordination in the Cambodian temple Wat Phrachumsagar in Phnom Penh, speaking to the Samdech Dhammalikket (right; *?1873, of Wat Langka, វត្តលង្ការ) 8th Mch 1955, after 6 p.m. Balzer had been in Phnom Penh to report for United Press on the coronation of Norodom Suramarit. He stayed with the buddist name of Dhamma Sarana in the order for 12 days under the tutelage of his preceptor Bhante Dharmawara (1889-1999; 2nd from right) next to him in the corner is: Indanano Phul Tés (1891–1966).
