English: On front of document:
"Article of Agrement made this 13th day of May 1830 between Benjamin Newman of Reading Steuben County New York of the 1st part and Elijah P Quinby and [J.T.] Deuel of Waterloo Seneca County N.Y. of the 2nd Part said Newman agrees to Furnish all the timber ready Framed and delivered on the bank of the Canal in this village for a Building 40 feet wide 80 feet Long & 18 feet Posts and assist in Raising the Building all of which is to be of good sound Timber and framed in a workmanlike manner when the building is raised the said Quinby & Deuel agrees to pay said Newman four Cents pr foot running measure for all the Hewed & Sawed timber contained in said Building which is to to according to a certain plan delivered to said Newman. One Hundred Dollars to be paid when the Timber is to delivered and the baleance on the 1st November next Said Newman further agrees to Inclose the Building for seventy five cents for Every Square of Ten feet and boared. In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands & Seals the day and year above written
