A Touch of Noir / Shades of Jazz on Noir Nederlands: Uittreksels uit het klassieke film noir-repertoire van de jaren veertig en vijftig zijn de basisingrediënten voor 'A Touch of Noir / Shades of Jazz on Noir'. Het noodlot, passie en levensangst waren de parameters van de filmregisseurs bij hun pionierswerk inzake belichtingstechnieken: clair-obscur mét psychologisch expressionisme en existentialisme. 'A Touch of Noir' benadert de film noir vanuit het mannelijk perspectief à la James Dean. 'Shades of Jazz on Noir' doet dat vanuit het standpunt van de femme fatale. Beide invalshoeken staan garant voor een fris en ongewoon multimedia-experiment. De passie, de wanhoop en de melancholie van het film noir-artefact worden geconfronteerd met het dynamisme en de textuur van de hedendaagse, vrij geïmproviseerde en niet-idiomatische muziek. De musici combineren humor en avontuurlijke muziek op eenvoudige wijze: delicaat, gemoedelijk, lyrisch, luchtig en speels; geconcentreerd en to the point. Maar meestal onvoorspelbaar! Français : Des extraits du répertoire classique du film noir des années quarante et cinquante sont les ingrédients de base pour 'A Touch of Noir / Shades of Jazz on Noir'. Le destin, la passion et l'angoisse existentielle étaient les paramètres des metteurs en scène lors de leur travail de pionnier en matière de techniques d'illumination: clair-obscur avec de l'expressionnisme psychologique et de l'existentialisme. 'A Touch of Noir' aborde le film noir à partir de la perspective masculine à la James Dean. 'Shades of Jazz on Noir' fait de même à partir du point de vue de la femme fatale. Les deux angles d'attaque garantissent une expérience multimédia rafraîchissante et inédite. La passion, le désespoir et la mélancolie de l'artéfact du film noir sont confrontés au dynamisme et à la texture de la musique contemporaine, librement improvisée et non idiomatique. Les musiciens combinent l'humour et la musique aventureuse de manière simple: délicatement, de manière bon enfant, lyriquement, légèrement et de façon ludique; de manière concentrée et to the point. The passion, despair and melancholy of the film noir artefact are confronted with the dynamism and texture of contemporary, freely-improvised and non-idiomatic music. The musicians use a simple combination of adventurous music and humour. It's delicate, congenial, lyrical, light-hearted and playful; concentrated and to the point. But more often than not unpredictable! |
