Summary[edit]

Description
English: Copulation attempts of a PxOR1-expressing male silkmoth to Z11-16:Ald. A piece of filter paper loaded with 1 µg Z11-16:Ald was placed inside a Pasteur pipette and used as the pheromone source. An individual male silkmoth was placed 3 cm downwind from the pheromone source. After the plastic cup that prevents the moth from detecting Z11-16:Ald was removed, the PxOR1-expressing male displayed pheromone orientation behavior and initiated abdominal bending that is the criterion for copulation attempts in male silkmoths.
