Description
English: The woosh bottle

- Ethanol evaporates easily (changes from a liquid to a gaseous state at room temperature). When it is a liquid, its volume is much less than when it is in a gaseous state. Therefore, a small amount of liquid alcohol can fill an entire container when it is gaseous. Combustion requires three things: fuel, oxygen and heat. When alcohol evaporates, it mixes with oxygen from the air. Thus we have two of the three elements of the fire triangle needed for combustion. It only lacks heat. This element is added when we approach a lighted rod to the opening of the vessel. Since it is a homogeneous mixture of gases, combustion will start very quickly. The products are water vapor, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. When the gas is heated, its volume and pressure increase. The heated gases spread quickly, but due to the solid walls of the vessel, the pressure inside rises rapidly. In an effort to equalize the pressure in the vessel with the atmospheric pressure, gases escape through a narrow opening. These gases produce sound waves through the air, making a loud woosh noise.

- Етанолот лесно испарува (преминува од течна во гасовита агрегатна состојба на собна температура). Кога е течност, тој има многу помал волумен отколку кога е во гасовита состојба. Затоа, мало количество течен алкохол може да го исполни целиот сад кога е во гасовита состојба. За горење се потребни три нешта: гориво, кислород и топлина. Кога алкохолот испарува, се меша со кислородот од воздухот. Со тоа имаме два од вкупно три елементи од „триаголникот на огнот“, потребни за согорување. Единствено недостасува топлина. Со приближување запалено кибритче кон отворот на садот исполнет е и последниот услов. Бидејќи станува збор за хомогена смеса од гасови, горењето ќе започне многу брзо. Продуктите се водна пара, јаглерод моноксид и јаглерод диоксид. При загревање на гасот, се зголемуваат неговиот волумен и притисокот. Загреаните гасови брзо се шират, но поради цврстите ѕидови на садот, притисокот внатре бргу се покачува. Настојувајќи да се изедначи притисокот во садот со атмосферскиот притисок, гасовите излегуваат низ релативно тесниот отвор. Овие гасови произведуваат звучни бранови низ воздухот, при што се слуша силен звук, како фучење (вууууууушшшшш).
