Summary[edit]

Description

The elevations of a one-up one-down terraced house dating from 1830. It is modelled on one in Green Street, St Margarets Leicester. The coal was kept under the stairs. It has a London cane glazed sink, but no running water. Cooking was done on the range, a register fire upstair would be used when someone was ill. It could sleep. a lodger two parents and 5 children four of whom would be top-and tailed in the single bed. The living room measured 10ft 6 by 11ft 6.
