Description
Македонски: Експеримент за добивање базeн оксид. Магнезиумова лента се пали го помош на гасна греалка. При горење на магнезиумот се емитира интензивна светлина, при што се образува магнезиум оксид (MgO). Магнезиум оксидот реагира со вода. Промената на бојата на индикаторите (универзален индикатор во првата и фенолфталеин во последната епрувета) потврдуваат дека средината е алкална (базна) поради образуваниот магнезиум хидроксид (Mg(OH)2). Со помош на универзална индикаторска хартија се покажува дека рН-вредноста на овој раствор е околу 8. Равенките на реакциите што се одвиваат се:
(1) 2Mg(s) + O2(g) = 2MgO(s); и
(2) MgO(s) + H2O(l) = Mg(OH)2(aq).
Осмислено и изведено од Марина Стојановска, Миха Буклески и Владимир Петрушевски, Институт за хемија, ПМФ, УКИМ, Скопје.
English: Experiment showing synthesis of a basic oxide. Magnesium ribbon is ignited by burner. Magnesium burns emitting intense light and forming magnesium oxide (MgO). Magnesium oxide reacts with water. The colour change of the indicators (universal indicator in the first and phenolphthalein in the last test tube) indicate alkaline (basic) medium due to the formed magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2). The universal indicator paper shows that the pH value of the solution is around 8. The chemical equations for the above reactions are:
(1) 2Mg(s) + O2(g) = 2MgO(s); and
(2) MgO(s) + H2O(l) = Mg(OH)2(aq).
