Македонски: Експеримент кој ја демонстрира оксидацијата на јагленче во стопен калиум нитрат. При контакт на зажарено јагленче со стопен калиум нитрат започнува интензивно ослободување на кислород. Ослободениот кислород доведува до оксидација при која се зголемува температурата на јагленчето и тоа продолжува да гори во атмосфера од речиси чист кислород. Ова е проследено со постојано потскокнување на зажареното јагленче над стопениот калиум нитрат. Процесот може да се опише со упростена (и сумарна) равенка која опишува дел од реакциите кои се одвиваат во системот:
2KNO3(l) + C(s) = 2KNO2(l) + CO2(g).
Осмислено и изведено од Марина Стојановска, Миха Буклески и Владимир Петрушевски, Институт за хемија, ПМФ, УКИМ, Скопје.
English: An experiment that demonstrates the oxidation of a piece of charcoal in molten potassium nitrate. When glowing charcoal is placed in molten potassium nitrate, oxygen formation starts. The oxygen is responsible for the oxidation that increases the temperature of the charcoal and the charcoal continues to burn in almost pure oxygen atmosphere. This is accompanied by continuous bouncing of the charcoal above the molten potassium nitrate. The process can be described by the simplified (and summarised) equation that describes part of the reactions that take place:
2KNO3(l) + C(s) = 2KNO2(l) + CO2(g).

Română: Experiment ce demonstrează oxidarea unei bucăți de cărbune în azotat de potasiu topit. Când cărbunele incandescent este plasat în azotatul de potasiu topit, începe formarea de oxigen. Oxigenul este responsabil de oxidarea care crește temperatura cărbunelui, care continuă să ardă într-o atmosferă formată aproape exclusiv din oxigen pur. Aceasta este însoțită de salturi continue ale cărbunelui peste azotatul de potasiu topit. Procesul poate fi descris prin ecuația simplificată (și sumarizată) care descrie o parte a reacțiilor ce au loc:
2KNO3(l) + C(s) = 2KNO2(l) + CO2(g).
