English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
The 72-year-old mr. Van Gemeren from Rotterdam, retired mechanic of tug boats, cycles through Rotterdam to work at the Rotterdam foundation Sterk door Werk (Stronger through Work). This foundation has put up workshops for elderly that still want to work in the Collective building in Rotterdam South, with a.o. rooms for metal working, a sawmill and a furniture-making workshop. Mayor G.E. van Walsum of Rotterdam visits the workshops with his wife for the official opening.

De 72-jarige hr. Van Gemeren uit Rotterdam, gepensioneerd werktuigkundige bij de zeesleepvaart, fietst door Rotterdam om te gaan werken voor de Rotterdamse stichting Sterk door Werk. Deze stichting heeft in het Verzamelgebouw in Rotterdam-Zuid werkplaatsen ingericht voor bejaarden die nog graag willen werken, met oa ruimtes voor metaalbewerking, een houtzagerij en een meubelmakerij. Burgemeester G.E. van Walsum van Rotterdam bezoekt met zijn echtgenote de werkplaatsen ter gelegenheid van de officiële opening. |
