English: The Botanical Magazine ; or Flower-Garden Displayed, commonly known as Curtis's Botanical Magazine, is an illustrated gardening and botanical journal started by William Curtis (Flora Londinensis) in the 18th century. The publication familiarized its readers with ornamental foreign plants, which it presented on a Octavo sized handcolored plate, accompanied by a page or two of text describing the plants properties, history and growth characteristics. The first and main illustrator was Sydenham Edwards, followed by Walter Hood Fitch and Matilda Smith. — From the English Wikipedia article.
