Hi,

with a few days left before the competition, I was looking more into the Azerbaijani competition, and I am a bit confused, so hopefully you can help me understand better. First of all, where do the monument lists come from? Is there some kind of official definition you're following? There seems to be no templated table yet either, nor any unique identifiers for the monument (every monument having their own 'number' so that we can add the list to the database). See for example this list in the region Belgaum in India. I'm also having a hard time finding anything about a jury, prizes or other contest-aspects. Could you enlighten me? Thanks! Hello. About all of the monuments at the list there are information on the web-site of the Ministry of Culture and Turism of Azerbaijan. I just collected them together in the list by district. I didn't add a number cause I havn't time for this. But each monument has a number (for example this one). I didn't added monuments whose architect didn't dead before 70 years (no FOP in Azerbaijan). All added monuments are protected by the state. There are also articles about many monuments in Azerbaijani Wikipedia or some information on the page about the district. I also added information about the conditions of the competition. For now I didn't think about jury and prizes. But we'll work on it. --Interfase (talk) 20:19, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
May I suggest having a look at What to keep in mind with creating a list of monuments? Handy for creating lists to make it easy for participants to participate. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 02:38, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for the explanation. I understand that the Freedom of Panorama is a problem. I would suggest to include as much as possible /all/ monuments in the list, and not just the ones that people can photograph. But you could include a parameter that says if people can photograph it or not (and let the upload link depend on that). I'd be happy to help you build such a template if you can help me understand the language and what you need.
I also see that the government actually already has ID's, the "İnventar nömrəsi"?
If you need help gathering the information from the government website into good lists, I suggest you ask for help from the Wiki Loves Monuments mailing list. It is very very short day, so I can't promise anything. People are very busy already with many countries. What you need is one or two technical savvy people that can collect the information from the government websites. It would be even better if you could find somewhere a database or excel sheet with the same information - that would speed up the process a lot. Effeietsanders (talk) 09:45, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. "İnventar nömrəsi" is ID given by the government. There are also information "Kateqoriya" (what is it: temple, church, bridge, etc.). I'll start create a list of monuments for Baku and Ganja (two most inhabitant cities of Azerbaijan, the monuments also a lot there). --Interfase (talk) 15:30, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, people. I'll start the list of monuments of Baku: Vikipediya:Viki Abidələri Sevir 2013/Abidələrin siyahısı/Bakı. To get the list just link to the "(Daha ətraflı)" (more information) in the main list. There are following columns:
Abidənin adı - the name of the monuments
İnventar nömrəsi - ID from the web-site of the ministry
Abidənin tipi - type of the monument
Ucaldılma tarixi - date of construction
Koordinatlar - coordinates (if we have them)
Ünvan - addres (if we know)
Şəkil - photo (if we have it)
Mənbə - link to the profile on the web-cite of the ministry
Volunteers who wants to join me can start to help me in creation of the lists. Let's go! --Interfase (talk) 16:29, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
These look like wikitables, not template based structured lists. I'm afraid I can't handle wikitables.
Please take a look at Commons:Monuments_database#Structured_lists on how to make this lists. If you need help, come online in #wikilovesmonuments on freenode (you can use http://webchat.freenode.net/). Multichill (talk) 18:21, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. Look now. --Interfase (talk) 23:10, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. Is there a reason why some numbers have a comma instead of a dot? Do you need help with transcoding your original lists to this format, or will you be able to do that yourself? Effeietsanders (talk) 13:54, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"Is there a reason why some numbers have a comma instead of a dot?" - yes. If there is a comma (or dot) on the number it means that this monument is the part of a large architectural complexe. For example Shah's mosque (3.3) is a part of Shirvanshah's Palace Complex. But on the web-site it is dot. But here we have a sortable list, so only with comma 3,3 and 3,4 come after 3. With dot it's not so.
"Do you need help with transcoding your original lists to this format" - yes. There are many monuments and only two active users. I created list about Baku, User Sefer azeri - about Ganja (and I even correct his list sometimes). But on the website of the government there are a lot of monuments (there is info about its type, name, ID, address, and smt. coordinates). So we need a help. --Interfase (talk) 15:51, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, we're running into deadline issues now and communication this way is much too slow. Could you please come on IRC and help us understand the situation, so that we can try to help you? You can find us on Freenode, on the channel #Wikilovesmonuments . You can use your favorite IRC client, or use the webversion: http://webchat.freenode.net . Thanks! Done, see Bugzilla53001. Multichill (talk) 10:36, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

List of all monuments[edit]

List of ALL MONUMENTS of Azerbaijan is here. This is the "Decision of Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic No. 132 dated August 2, 2001" about protection of monuments of Azerbaijan. There you can find ID of the monuments, date of construction, and address. Very useful sourse. --Interfase (talk) 22:38, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
