How can I address an upload campaign...[edit]

to add / alter / delete fields? The page Special:UploadCampaigns, which has listed the campaigns last year, is gone. --Quarz (talk) 22:05, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Quarz, The problem last year was that too many people were able to edit the upload campaigns which caused us a lot of trouble and had to restore a lot of changes. This year we organized it differently: we have one user for the software and one user for the campaigns itself (me) for Wiki Loves Monuments. If there are changes needed, users can write here on this page to request such change. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 16:00, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Romaine, OK - and thanks for your good work. --Quarz (talk) 18:41, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Monument ID[edit]

wlm-de-hb
needs just the same fields as now.
Monument ID translation = "Denkmalnummer aus der Liste" (obligatory)
The other field takes the borrow, is obligatory too and should be labeled "Stadtteil (ohne Stadt-Namen)"
--Quarz (talk) 17:22, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
At the moment it says "Denkmalnummer aus der Liste" above the first field, the second field has "Stadtteil (ohne Stadt-Namen)". If you conform that this is correct: oke. If you want anything to change: then I don't understand and please repeat. Romaine (talk) 18:33, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Romaine, you got me right. If nothing changes it will be very well. The second field has to be transfered as parameter {{{1}}} to Template:WLM2012-DE-HB.
Currently the upload links in the Bremen lists lead to our "Bremer Express-Upload". I don't really think that we switch to the "Wizard" before WLM 2013. But if - a lot of changes must be done to keep all functionality. Best regards --Quarz (talk) 19:01, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Only the source code of the wizard has been changed, I made sure that it works exactly the same as last year, including all modifications for national and regional campaigns. The way you describe is the way how it is implemented. You can test the campaign with this link if you like. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 19:29, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Works very well. Thanks. Because I maybe have to alter categories: Is Template:WLM2012-DE-HB currently used? --Quarz (talk) 20:00, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering if we should create a 2013 template for each state in Germany, or rename these WLM2012 templates to a name without a year in it. I was planning to create also 2013 categories for each of the states, and modify that in the campaigns, many now still use a category for 2012. Romaine (talk) 15:40, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. I think templates should not have a year in the name, WLM categories must have the current year. --Quarz (talk) 16:07, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have renamed all templates, created all 2013 categories and updated the campaigns of all the states in Germany with them.
Most other countries do add a template with the unique identifier. I notice that a lot of campaigns do not add such identifier....
I notice that a lot of categories in Category:Maintenance for Wiki Loves Monuments in Germany still have unfixed files in it. I think these should be repaired as soon as possible. Can you help out with this and/or request others to help with this? Romaine (talk) 19:59, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Mostly local knowledge is needed to fix broken categories. I'll ask for help at de:Wikipedia Diskussion:WikiProjekt Denkmalpflege. --Quarz (talk) 21:41, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WLM Taiwan Translation[edit]

Hi Romaine, I'm the organizer of Taiwan competition. I saw the message you left on Chinese. Need location for the Tradition Chinese and Taiwanese Chinese.

Here's the following sting:

    • To translate: Monument ID
      • 古蹟ID
  1. For above the upload wizard during September:
    • To translate: Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 China Upload Wizard.
      • 2013年维基愛古蹟中國上傳工具
    • To translate: Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 Hong Kong Upload Wizard.
      • 2013年维基愛古蹟香港上傳工具
    • To translate: Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 Taiwan Upload Wizard.
      • 2013年维基爱古蹟台灣上傳工具
    • To translate: Website of the contest
      • 比賽網站
    • To translate: Other countries
      • 其他國家

Supaplex (talk) 04:31, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I placed the translations on the /zh-tw pages. I see that only Template:Upload campaign use Wiki Loves Monuments isn't translated into /zh-tw yet. Also the translation into zh-tw is missing here: Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/CentralNotice#Main_banner. Can you translate both as well? Romaine (talk) 21:00, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I saw you translated also into zh-hant, in zh-hant also Template:Upload campaign use Wiki Loves Monuments is missing. Romaine (talk) 21:22, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

UploadWizard&campaign=wlm-de-hb[edit]

accepts obligatory fields left empty. But it has to block it like 2012.
Result: Categorizing fails, also to WLM maintenance category "...with broken...". See File:UploadWizard wlm-de-hb 1.jpg --Quarz (talk) 07:54, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Malfunction Campaign:wlm-de-...[edit]

WLM is over. But the Wizard goes on to set the categories Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, DE-.... --Quarz (talk) 22:20, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Output format[edit]

The output of the upload campaign have several bugs:

  • The coordinates from the parameters are presented as {{Location dec}}. It's wrong because they cannot be coordinates of the camera as they are copied from the monument lists! {{Object location}} should be use instead!
  • The coordinates cloned from the monument lists should be specially tagged as imprecise because they cannot mark the real part and view of the monument as they are general coordinates of the whole monument. Such coordinates should be defilterable to distinguish and separate them from real coordinates of photos (from EXIF or manually entered).
  • Users should be induced to enter real coordinates of the camera including its heading - the current form doesn't allow to distinguish object location and camera location and doesn't allow to enter a heading.
  • The monument ID template should be separated at a new line (just like every language version should be), not attached closely after the description text.
  • The license tag should be integrated rather to "permission" field of the {{Information}} template.
  • The WLM tag should be integrated rather to "source" field of the {{Information}} template.
  • No additional text should be added outside the {{Information}} template.
  • Shouldn't Cc-by-sa-4.0 be used instead of Cc-by-sa-3.0?

Upload form headers[edit]

As the page stated, Template:Upload campaign header Wiki Loves Monuments August is intended for August, Template:Upload campaign header Wiki Loves Monuments finished for October. What should be displayed since November to July? Why I can see now, in July 2014, the message, that 2013 contest is over, instaed of information about 2014 contest?

Template:Upload campaign use Wiki Loves Monuments is displayed year-round. Some non-September version is missing. --ŠJů (talk) 22:17, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
