Welcome to Wiki Loves Earth 2023 in Cameroon which takes place from 1 to 30 June 2023

Introduction

Wiki Loves Earth 2023 is an international photography contest. Its main goal is to encourage the valorization of natural protected areas through Wikimedia projects (mainly the Wikipedia encyclopedia and its media library Wikimedia Commons).

This is the fifth time that Cameroon organise this competition, which runs from 1 to 30 June 2023. You are all invited to participate, whether as a participant (professional or non-professional photographer), as a volunteer of the organisation or both. Anyone can participate. It is also a good opportunity to raise public awareness of nature and biodiversity, and to remind people of the issues involved in preserving it.

There are many natural sites to be photographed: the competition will cover all areas in all regions of Cameroon, from national parks to regional nature reserves. You can import as many photographs of these natural areas as you wish.

These photos may have been taken at any time, but the upload must be made between 1 and 30 June 2023.

These photos must be placed under a Free license.

At the end of the competition, the local jury will award prizes to the three best photos and a prize will be offered to the three best images out of the ten selected.

After the local selections, the international jury will choose the best photos (of all the photos in the competition) from which 10 Cameroonian photos will make the list.
