This year's edition of the photographic contest "Wiki Loves Earth" is coming

Do you also never get out in the nature without a camera just like us? Do you seek for hours for the most beautiful reflection of the surface of the lake and the right angle in which that the sun rays join the crowns of the trees? If yes, then we have news for you. In ___MONTH___ ___NAME OF ORGANISATION___ organises the photo contest "Wiki Loves Earth".

For the first time ___COUNTRY___ participated at the contest in ___YEAR___. The idea of holding such photo contest emerged during the discussion on possible common projects between Wikimedia Ukraine and Wikimedia RU at the Berlin Wikimedia conference (29 March – 2 April 2012). The first contest was organised by Wikimedia Ukraine in 2013. Through the years the interest about it has been rising impetuously: in 2014 15 countries participated, and in 2015 the number was 26. The overall number of uploaded images during the contest exceeded 100.000! Only in ___COUNTRY___ the number of uploaded images until now is ___NUMBER___ and the number of created articles next to them is ___NUMBER___!

The aim of the photographing of protected areas and the sharing of the photos under a free licence is the illustrating of articles on Wikipedia. Next to that the contest aims at increasing the knowledge and sensitivity about questions of protecting the environment and the natural resources. Images of areas, panoramic images, images from the air, flashes of sights like rock formations and century old trees, as well as plants and wild animals in their natural environment. Artistic close-ups and composition are valued. As a simplification the organisers of the contest offer a list of objects of natural heritage in ___COUNTRY___, consisting of ___NUMBER OF NATIONAL RESERVES, NUMBER OF NATURE RESERVES, NUMBER OF RESERVES, NUMBER OF PROTECTED AREAS, ETC.___.

The contest consists of two rounds. During the first round national selections are carried out, which are coordinated by local ___VOLUNTEERS, WIKIMEDIANS___ and ten images are determined, which continue to the international round of the contest. And in it – although among a much lesser number of images – the choice is incredibly harder.

The criteria according to which the juries evaluate the pictures are: technical qualities, originality and educational value. It is important that the images are accompanied by precise descriptions of what is on them. It is obligatory for the participants to participate only with their own pictures and to upload them under a free licence into Wikimedia's multimedia repository Wikimedia Commons. Learn more about the contest at ___WEB ADDRESS OF YOUR LANDING PAGE___, where you will be able to upload your images during ___MONTH___. Small box, titled "What is a free licence"
