Main Categorization Metadata Cleanup Metadata feedback

This page is for coordinating metadata cleanup efforts related to Walters Art Museum (WAM) images. The main tasks include:

  • Ensuring all matadata contained in WAM website pages is included on Commons pages
  • Ensure image descriptions are using creator templates for authors and metadata translation templates (like {[tl|size}}, {{Technique}}, {{Title}}, etc.) whenever possible
  • Multiple views of an artwork are shown in a gallery added to "other version" parameter
  • License should be clear, concise and related to the artwork

Tasks[edit]

  • creator templates and related categories were added to most of the images. Remaining tasks:
  • Template internationalization
  • Bulk of template internationalization was already done by a bot. Use "Replacement tasks" section below for additional task ideas
  • Add "other version" parameter for works with multiple views
  • Still to be done. Will need to write bot for that ...
  • License cleanup
  • Separate licenses were created for 2D and 3D works, and proper license was added to each image. Use parameter "type" in {{Walters Art Museum license}} to correct the license if necessary.

Replacement tasks[edit]

This section collects replacement tasks which can be done by a bot.
