  •  Support Nice and useful -- Spurzem (talk) 13:20, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose Either this is not ssp boettgeri or the ssp map on Wikipedia is wrong. Can you check please and I can delete my oppose if you are right. Also, image needs to be rotated about 15% please Palauenc05. Charlesjsharp (talk) 21:14, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Charles, I know you mean Testudo hermanni boettgeri var. Hercegovinensis. As the subspecific taxon’s nomenclature is currently quite controversial in literature, I’ve actually decided to avoid it. Of course, I should have mentioned the Island of Pag in the scope. As a matter of fact, the animals along the Croation Adriatic coast, especially the ones of this island population, are much smaller (about one half or even one third in weight) than the "boettgeris" in Macedonia for example. So what would you propose, should I add var. Hercegovinensis and/or mention the island of Pag? As for the tilt, I found that beautiful tortoise walking uphill on that paved sidewalk along the street, picked it up and released it in a wild area, where it is safe now. That’s why I didn’t turn the image ccw. --Palauenc05 (talk) 09:56, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment can Archaeodontosaurus advise please on Taxonomy. You really should rotate it though. Charlesjsharp (talk) 15:14, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • ✓ Done Rotated ccw. --Palauenc05 (talk) 15:56, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment The genus is not definitively fixed. The species either, the varieties are not recognized. Individuals can reproduce among themselves: there is no consensus. The maps on Wikipedia are indicative only and not for reference. The scope as it is formulated seems to me to be an acceptable compromise. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 16:19, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
