  •  Comment I'm satisfied that he's notable enough, but your argument seems to be that "Portrait of Joe Schmoe" would be an acceptable scope and notability is irrelevant. That isn't logical, is it? Otherwise, have a look at Commons:Valued image scope#Examples of suitable scopes: "A portrait of a notable person" is given as an example of a suitable type of scope; "A portrait of an unknown person" is not. If you'd like to make more explicit that notability is a factor in judging the scopes of portraits, we can discuss the addition of new words, but claiming that it's not a basis for judgment at all, I submit, is something we can summarily dismiss. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:24, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
