caption & description
for the WLM-campaigns, can we get rid of either the caption or the description? Lets only ask for the essential information, both is too many questions right now for a campaign where we try to streamline the process for new contributors. - The process is not user-friendly, in part because we ask for so many separate descriptions. First, a filename, to be both unique and descriptive. Then separate boxes for a caption, description, and a few categories, and finally a "depicts". We old-timers understand the distinct and precise requirements for each, but it is surely very confusing to our newbies, even in a campaign that specifically invites them and might have someone helping. For a new uploader trying to make a contribution without help it must be hopelessly discouraging. Jim.henderson (talk) 04:06, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- I agree, captions should not be asked in this phase. The UploadWizard is getting more complicated than Special:Upload... Nemo 13:16, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
Broken
So I'm attempting to upload over 1000 images in batches of 50. But I feel like I'm breaking the service with the submit button clickable but does nothing. Does not proceed.
- It's easy for the UploadWizard to crash in unexpected ways when uploading multiple images. Some users only manage to upload 2-3 at a time on their machine. Are you monitoring the RAM and CPU usage to make sure your resources are not saturated? Nemo 13:15, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
