Consensual review[edit]

File:San_Vitale_(Ravenna)_-_Dome_interior_(Pixel_shift).jpg[edit]

  • Nomination San Vitale (Ravenna) - Dome interior --Commonists 13:09, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  Comment Strong chromatic aberration should be removed. Strange canvas pattern over the whole picture? --Ermell 22:01, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
  • ✓ Done It's not a canvas, it is a fresco, thank you. --Commonists 23:04, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
  • CA still visible as well as the strange pattern all over the picture. --Ermell 20:19, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
  • I have reworked the CA, but I don't see what you say is strange, honestly. Thank you.--Commonists 18:31, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Not solved IMO. You may send it to CR to see what others think. --Ermell

  • Yes, i think the same.Thank you. --Commonists 00:52, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Oppose Coming to this with fresh eyes, I see CAs and out of focus at the edges, and the texture effect in the centre, which is causing fringes, e.g. around the arms. Sorry, not a QI for me. Rodhullandemu 09:42, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Something really went wrong during post processing. I have no idea how the result came about, but it looks like someone put a linear grid (halftone) over the photo. In some, mainly low-contrast areas, the JPG compression then broke that grid again and put its own artifacts over it. Since some of the remaining CA is a dozen pixels wide, you'd almost think the image had been upscaled by inappropriate means. I have no idea how and why this is done and would appreciate an explanation. -- Smial 12:11, 8 November 2021 (UTC) Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
  •  Comment Thanks for your opinion, however I had to reduce it because the real weight was 247 mb but commons allows to upload max 100 mb. Thank you. --Commonists 19:06, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Comment This explains the compression artifacts, but not the regular pattern. -- Smial 13:07, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
