- Support Very nice and great level of detail (also compared to other small bird shots on FP)! I wonder if it is only possible to take such shots with very expensive equipment. 1D + 500 tele prime is not cheap :) Can you say something about the shooting conditions? - Tripod with a gimbal head. I waited near a small waterhole inside a blind. As it was the hot season birds come to drink. Actually in this case a 7D or something with a 400mm f5.6 could probably do almost as well for this shot, as there was enough light. But when things start getting really dim, distant, or move quickly, then there is a big difference. JJ Harrison (talk) 03:18, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
