제3회 올해의 이미지 대회는 모든 위키미디어 프로젝트의 사용자들이 한 해 동안 알찬 이미지로 선정한 이미지들 중에서 투표를 통해 하나의 이미지를 올해의 이미지로 뽑는 행사입니다. 세 번째 올해의 이미지 대회 투표는 다음과 같이 진행되었습니다:

1 단계 : 2009-02-12부터 2009-02-26까지 진행. (결과 - 각 문서의 모든 파일 결과)

최종 단계 : 2009-04-19부터 2009-04-30까지 진행.

공용 올해의 이미지 2008: 결과

2008 위키미디어 공용 이미지 대회는 우승 작품이 선정되어 현재 종료되었습니다. 최종 투표에서는 위키미디언 712명의 투표를 통해서 74표를 받은 비안디츠 산의 말들이 우승을 차지하였습니다. 71표를 받은 불뿜기 묘기는 2위로 선정되었으며, 3위는 기관차고의 증기 기관차로 46표를 받았습니다.

"Platycryptus undatus". A 9 millimeter-long female jumping spider found in Newport News, Virginia. The lens setup utilized was a Nikon 50mm f/1.4D reverse mounted on a Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6G . 13 images of variable focus were captured and composited in CombineZM, a focus stacking program.
