Category:Wild animals[edit]

Same as Category:Wildlife this category should be redirected to Category:Nature because almost all animals are wild animals. Smooth_O (talk) 14:49, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

wildlife is similar to nature but not the same. All creatures are part of nature. Domestic or imprisoned (zoos) animals are also part of nature. They are not part of the wildlife. I suggest not to delete wild animals and redir. it to wildlife (for now). Category:Wildlife should not be redirected to Category:Nature and remain as a separate category if not deleted. But I'm not an expert for biology. --Mattes (talk) 15:43, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If just that would be so, that "almost all animals are wild animals" [1]. Never heard of "Intensive animal farming"?[2]?
There really is more than enough reason for a separate catagory about "wild animals" (or probably even better "animals in nature"). Besides it's not that expensive to have one? In other words: "why the fuss"? The more catagories, the bigger the chance that visitors can find exactly what they came for; this the more when the main subject is as comprehensive as "Animals".

  • Category could be renamed, but should not be redirected to Category:Nature. There's a lot more to nature than the animals: plants, bodies of water, etc. You also can't say that almost all animals are wild ones unless you give some kind of statistic for it, and that's outside the scope of category definitions here. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:36, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
