I don't think so, in the particular case we are talking about. The category refers to the waves as macroscopycal objects, so, mechanics is the correct superior cat, in my opinion. --Tano4595 13:41, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion just came up in de:WP again (see german discussion), and here the majority pleads for wave mechanics = quantum mechanics, so this category here better should be renamed. In German, we call the topic "wave optics", does that exist in English, too? --PeterFrankfurt (talk) 00:14, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
