Naming of categories for streets of Berlin - not unique name or locality[edit]
I created two categories to reduce the quantity of categories directly in Category:Streets in Berlin:
- Category:Streets in Berlin having the same name as another street in Berlin
- Category:Streets in Berlin located in more than one locality (currently 95 https://archive.vn/RC0WW)
There are some inconsistent names for subcategories which thanks to the above categories are easier to find:

- Maybe not:
- If there is content for all "Berliner Straße" in Berlin, then Category:Berliner Straße (Berlin) is just a normal category.
- If subcategories are removed from Category:Streets in Berlin having the same name as another street in Berlin then the category would not store the streets anymore.
- There is another name-orientated category: Category:Roads and streets named after women in Berlin, so it is fine to have a collection of streets by another name characteristic.
- Duplicate street names are a topic in Berlin, source for confusion, provision in laws against it, forms asking for specification which of the streets X one is referring to, https://www.bild.de/regional/berlin/eigentlich-zwoelf-waldstrassen-5284222.bild.html : 12 x Waldstraße / 10 x Lindenstraße / 9 x Bahnhofstraße, Charlottenstraße, Parkstraße / 8 x Berliner Straße, Gartenstraße, Goethestraße, Kirchstraße ... User:Stang, can you help? More than a year passed and Lichtenberg, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Marzahn-Hellersdorf still not fixed. Naming of categories for streets in Berlin - unique name[edit]
Why have some streets that exist only once in Berlin a category for the whole street named by locality? E.g. there is only one Bölschestraße in Berlin, but the category is Category:Bölschestraße (Berlin-Friedrichshagen).
Laws of Berlin prohibit the creation of new streets under a name of another street in Berlin, so if a street has a name unique within Berlin, it will stay so as long as the boundaries of Berlin are not changed and the law not changed. 78.54.198.107 06:16, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

- I agree that according to the normal naming standards, ... (Berlin) would be the correct disambiguation. I believe our current convention was originally done for consistency. I have grown to like the convention for Ortsteile, though, because it's easier to find the correct category, without having to guess the correct name. That said, I'd be
