Occitan exist[edit]

Be careful when using these maps for educational purposes or for wikipedia articles. Maybe half of these maps don't show Occitan (between others languages) spoken in roughly most Southern France, Val d'Aran in Catalonia, Monaco and some valley in Italy. Even if it's a minority language with no recognition from the State, it's still spoken by a lot of people that identify with, have some status in Italy and it's co-official in Catalonia.

In a lot of these maps, Occitan is just considered French and isn't even mentioned. Even if these theories was popular in the 19th century (for political reasons), all linguists today agree to the fact that Occitan is a separate language related to Catalan. Wikipedia is about being neutral and sharing the facts, not giving arguments to political propaganda and falsification of history. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2A01:E35:2F0F:7E0:EC02:759C:DD45:D1F4 (talk) 20:21, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
