Clean-up[edit]

What is the purpose of keeping so many inaccurate restorations that are not historically relevant? The criteria for removing an image:

  • Image differs appreciably from known skeletal elements.
  • Image differs appreciably from implied skeletal elements (via bracketing).
  • Image differs appreciably from known non-skeletal elements.
  • Image differs appreciably from implied non-skeletal elements.
  • Image pose differs appreciably from known range of motion.

Many images in the categories "Inaccurate Ornithischia restorations" and "Inaccurate Saurischia restorations" (and their subcategories) meet these criteria. I suggest a huge clean-up; many images should be removed, especially some ugly models in parks and malls (ex: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pra%C3%A7a_dos_Dinossauros_no_bairro_Santa_Luzia.jpg), those anorexic 3D models (ex: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Deinonychus1.jpg) and badly drawn images (ex: File:Epidexipteryx hui2.gif). Inaccurate images are often historically relevant and are useful for rebutting misconceptions or as negative examples of how not to restore dinosaurs. Abyssal (talk) 01:16, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
