Renaming the category[edit]

"Politic personalities" isn't grammatical. I suggest "Icons of politicians". — SMUconlaw (talk) 15:12, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your suggestion is worst than the current name, it will increase the confusion : this is not a category for pictures of politians but a category for drawings of a silhouette with a sash representing people engage in politic (not necessarily a politician) by country. What do you consider to be the difference between "political personalities" (or "people engaged in politics") and "politicians"? I do not think there is any difference between them. The word politician does not only mean someone who is elected to office; it can also mean a person who is a candidate for office. The use of the word Icons will indicate to editors that this is not a category for photographs. — SMUconlaw (talk) 08:57, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Imo, a politician is a person whose job is to do politic, a political personality can be a politician but can also be a person engages by different meaning : lobbyist, syndicalist, striker, activist, hacktivist…
"The use of the word Icons will indicate to editors that this is not a category for photographs." : this is exactly why we need to rename the category, editors don't care or, imo, are not good enough in english to understand this is not a category for drawing and not photograph. in fact, icon originally means portrait, so… Ju gatsu mikka (^o^) appelez moi Ju (^o^) 20:51, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
