I thing this category should be splitted into two: one containing computer icons (Category:Computer icons) and second containing icons-paintings (Category:Icons or Category:Icons (paintings). --Derbeth 09:03, 27 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I splitted the category and put all Orthodox icons in Category:Icons (art). --AndreasPraefcke 19:58, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
thank you very much! I added Icon (computing) to this category, too, btw... -- Duesentrieb 20:20, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hello, I am new to wikimedia commons, I have uploaded some Hexagonal Icons which I created. Can someone more experienced check they are in the right place? Thanks,

Favicons[edit]

The Wikimedia favicons should be categorized too, probably going in here or their own category. Erudecorp 17:33, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exellent idea, but did anything ever happen to it? --71.225.51.30 20:34, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vector art versus Pixel art[edit]

It's a good idea to separate pixel art and vector art because there is a callous template ({{svg}} template:svg) that says that pixel art should be recreated as vector art. It's hard-headed to suggest such a thing about some images. Keeping pixel and vector art separate could help prevent this. Erudecorp 17:51, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Free icons collections[edit]

Images collections:

We should think about making backups of those icons collections in zip format, since they are small aynways. The "Icons for iPhone apps" archive has 733 KB for example. —  Ark25  (talk) 20:39, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
