Name of the category[edit]

Shouldn't this category be named "Helsinki Cathedral" like the article in English Wikipedia? -kyykaarme (talk) 08:35, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK @Kyykaarme: and added the note that also exists category:Uspenski Cathedral (or category:Helsinki Orthodox Cathedral).--Estopedist1 (talk) 06:05, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There's also a Catholic Saint Henry's Cathedral in Helsinki and Category:Saint Henry's Cathedral (Helsinki) in Commons. And Category:Assumption Cathedral in Moscow, in russian Успенский собор, (de) Uspenski-Kathedrale , (sv) Uspenskijkatedralen.--Htm (talk) 14:07, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Estopedist1. There are 544 files that should be moved into this new category. Should I just use Cat-a-lot even though it's going to flood Recent changes? -kyykaarme (talk) 19:13, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyykaarme and Htm: no hurry please! We should estimate the situation here: maybe "Helsinki Cathedral" should be disambiguation page? Eg eswiki has es:Catedral de Helsinki (desambiguación). Our Commons threshold for reservation (ie "Helsinki Cathedral" to be reserved to individual Lutheran church) is much higher than Wikipedias.--Estopedist1 (talk) 19:35, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Estopedist1: Ok, no hurry. But I don't think anyone or at least not many people would confuse "Helsinki Cathedral" with "Uspenski Cathedral", and even less with Saint Henry's Cathedral. If you search "Helsinki Cathedral" on Google, you get images of the Lutheran Cathedral, because it's known as The Helsinki Cathedral. "Helsinki Lutheran Cathedral" gives me 13,600 results and "Helsinki Cathedral" gives 472,000. I don't think we need a disambiguation page for it, unless you mean in the same way as eswiki has which is to have the category here and then an additional disambiguation page. -kyykaarme (talk) 20:00, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyykaarme and Htm: If at least 90% of search entries (per commons:Disambiguation) we think about this Lutheran Cathedral, then we can move on. If not, then disambiguation should be best solution--Estopedist1 (talk) 06:01, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyykaarme and Estopedist1: Please notice that in cases like this you should always tag the category with {{Move}}. That way the page is categorised under Category:Requested moves to have a proper discussion before making the move. See Commons:Rename a category for more information.
About this particular move, I think Category:Helsinki Cathedral is better name than Helsinki Lutheran Cathedral because that is the name the church is known by. On the other hand, I have never seen Uspenski Cathedral or Saint Henry's Cathedral referred as Helsinki Cathedral. ––Apalsola tc 08:58, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think the problem is "Lutheran". Globally, I think minority of churches is Lutheran churches, or what do you think? Anyway in fi-Wiki we have article Uspenskin katedraali about the othodox cathedral in Helsinki and article about Uspenskin katedraali in Moskow, Russia. And a lot of red links on disambiguation page Uspenskin katedraali (täsmennyssivu).--Htm (talk) 16:53, 12 May 2020 (UTC) (edit) And I agree with {{Move}}, it should have been used.--Htm (talk) 16:55, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry but I do not quite get it why cathedrals in Moscow or some other cities should affect how we are naming a category for a cathedral in Helsinki? ––Apalsola tc 23:51, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't get why categories are moved after two days of discussion. Or named and then discussed. I have nothing else to say here.--Htm (talk) 03:34, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
