I have placed the 32 countries in Afrika behind the existing cat. This reduces the number of subcats, and could be continued for the other continents.

Need to maintain by country?

This cat by country looks a repeat of the cat by country behind Architecture. As explained already, I want to reduce the number of subcats by creating the intermediate layer by continent in order to facilitate the use of HotCat, facilitate the searches by analogy etc. Some users want however to maintain the full list of 190 countries (Australia for ex, even if it is easy to find it behind Oceania or Architecture by country). I remind that the ultimate purpose of cats is to be as precise as possible (like the top of a tree branche). There is no need to repeat the name of parent cats, as a general Wikimedia principle.

I note that a user (kindly) restored all the countries in Americas, so that I stop allocating the remaining countries (Asia and Oceania). The result is halfway (seems that European & African countries remain behind Europe & Africa only). Info 13-3-16.
