xuangui (xuán guī 旋龜), i.e., "twisting turtle"^[1] or "revolving tortoise",^[2]

said to occur on the Niuyang Mountains in the Guaishui (or strange waters), described as bird-headed and serpent-tailed. Eating it purportedly cured deafness. Nan shan jing^[1] and Bencao Gangmu.^[2]
