English: West Cornforth is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated to the south of Cornforth, near the A1(M) motorway, Ferryhill and Spennymoor. It is referred to locally as "Doggie" possibly due to the production of dog iron there in the past though this etymology is disputed.
