Water treatment facilities are under the jurisdiction of Naval District Washington, Naval Support Activity Annapolis, which processes water tapped from aquifers several hundred feet below the town and distributes it to the town, the Academy, and St. John's College. The civilian participants are assessed their fair share of the costs. Before the completion of a new and improved plant in 2015 facilites were in use that dated back to 1922, remodelled in 1958. Some of them are shown in this category. The old system proved overly expensive for the product they provided.
