MOR 555 is the inventory number of a fossil specimen of the theropod dinosaur Tyrannosaurus rex. It got it's nickname "Wankel rex" (also spelt "Wankel Rex") after Kathy Wankel, who discovered the skeleton in 1988. The "Wankel rex" is estimated to have been about 36.5 feet long,[1] it is well preserved, and is the first Tyrannosaurus specimen with a fairly preserved forelimb. A bronzecast of this skeleton, nicknamed "Big Mike", is mounted outside the Museum of the Rockies.[2]
