The Waltham Steam was made by the Waltham Automobile Company which was founded by George M. Tinker and John W. Piper, two former employees of the Waltham Manufacturing Company, between 1899 and 1902 or 1903. This and the fact, that the very first Waltham Steam was allowed to be built at Waltham Manufacturing, are the only known connection between Waltham Automobile and Waltham Manufacturing.
