English: In 1891, Monsieur Pierre-Eugène Secrétan founded a factory to refine copper and zinc products from raw copper and zinc. In 1889 his "Société des métaux" had gone bankrupt when he tried to corner the copper market and after selling his art collection he made a comeback. The facility included the construction of port works at Dives-sur-Mer and production halls, offices, and housing for workers and supervisors. Secrétan's house was decorated with polychrome brick and stone, and is distinguished by its clock tower. It is now considered a "Monument historique".
This building is inscrit au titre des monuments historiques de la France. It is indexed in the base Mérimée, a database of architectural heritage maintained by the French Ministry of Culture, under the reference PA14000076 .
