English: Uchek Langmeitong (Uchek Langmeidong) or Chekla Langmeitong (Chekla Langmeidong) is a mythical creature in Meitei mythology and folklore of Ancient Manipur (Antique Kangleipak). Hayainu, the maiden, unable to bear the ill treatment of her stepmother, turned herself into a hornbill bird (Uchek Langmei).
